Janelle Walwyn-White is an accomplished attorney and social work professional, admitted to practice in Maryland, the District of Columbia, and St. Kitts and Nevis. She is the principal attorney of Walwyn-White Legal Services, LLC, and a founding partner of Walwyn Slack Clarke White, a prestigious law firm in St. Kitts and Nevis in the Caribbean.
Before becoming an attorney, Janelle earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan—where she was recognized as a Child Welfare Scholar—and dedicated her early career to working with children, families, and survivors of abuse and neglect. Her experience as a forensic interviewing specialist and child welfare advocate gives her an unmatched ability to approach legal matters with both sharp legal strategy and deep human insight.
Before founding her firm, she served as a family law associate with prominent firms in Maryland, representing clients in high-stakes litigation from intake through trial. Janelle’s practice focuses on complex family law matters, including divorce, custody disputes, child protective proceedings, and cases involving allegations of abuse or severe mental health challenges. She is known for her meticulous preparation, persuasive advocacy, and ability to navigate sensitive issues with both professionalism and compassion.
A graduate of The George Washington University Law School, where she earned high honors and was inducted into the Order of the Coif, Janelle has handled high-stakes litigation as well as mediated difficult disputes. She is also trained as a Maryland Best Interest Attorney and holds certifications in child welfare, human services management, and forensic interviewing.
